WHAT DOES A 40 YEAR OLD WOMAN LOOK LIKE TODAY?
What does a 40 year old look like today?
Is our age suppose to dictate the way we dress or how we look? Generations ago, a 40 yr old women was considered older and their look was much more senior like, for lack of better terms. I look back at pictures of my mom and although she was always ahead with fashion, she looked a lot older than our 40yr olds today. Sporting the older women's hairstyle and wearing a lot of pant and midlength skirt suits. Women were also much more conservative in their look which created a huge gap in style from the 20-30 yr olds to the 40yr old market of that time.
I think times have changed quite a bit and thanks to globalization and social media, trend setting and self awareness is becoming much more prevalent in all age categories, especially over 40. Now a days, it's very hard to even determine or pinpoint a woman in her 40's. Social media has played a huge part in educating women and providing them with a portal full of helpful tips and advice on topics like fashion, beauty fitness, supplements, self-awareness and healthy lifestyles. We don't have to look any further than down at our own smartphones that provide us all this info at our fingertips. We wake up in the am , and for most of us, our first thing we do is glance over at our cell phone. As we check the time and verify the weather, there are many pop up windows just waiting for us to click, which inform us of advice and tips on how to look and feel younger. Not to mention all those ads we are bombarded with. How can we not be in the loop with these latest trends.
Women today are much more self aware and are depend on social media as their go-to for obtaining that best products which are keeping them young and vital . We no longer have to wait for the car ride to the mall to buy that awesome dress or to get out to the gym to get that workout, now it can be all processed while wearing our pjs in the comfort of our own home, thanks to online retailers and youtube. Forty year olds today are a much more established in their careers and for most, their children are more independent. They now have more time and money to devote to their improving their overall appearance, as oppose to their thirties. Thanks to the world wide web and wifi, we can simply have all these tools help us look and feel our best, its just up to us to utilize them.
